| The Rio Grande River is the largest river in Portland and gives the watershed its name. It is traditionally used for rafting and is a popular destination for visitors that would like a refreshing ride. It has been impacted by extensive farming and runoff is evident on the floodplains below. In addition, there are two mining operations along the length of the river that also results in sedimentation of the river.
